Certified Tank Testing

When you buy or sell residential property, or occupy commercial land with an underground fuel tank, you may be faced with many questions. What is the tank's condition? Do you leave it in the ground? Who is responsible for removing it? A tank test can provide valuable information about the current condition of a tank. It will detect new and potential leaks, as well as determine whether you should remove or replace an older tank.

Types of Tank Testing

There are different types of tank testing services available to residential and commercial customers. They provide safe, reliable and affordable methods to determine problems with underground tank systems.

Tank Testing: This typically includes a standard inspection of the tank and related piping through the use of sophisticated computer equipment. The test identifies problems with the integrity of the tank equipment. A ?pass? or ?fail? rating will be given to the tank and pipes. Oftentimes, tanks that do not pass can be repaired.

Tank Corrosion Analysis: This includes an enhanced inspection that combines a standard tank testing inspection with corrosion analysis of the underground tank. The corrosion evaluation can determine the potential risk for future catastrophic failure.

Soil Corrosion Evaluation: This includes an inspection of the test equipment through a comprehensive soil corrosion evaluation. This involves extracting samples of the soil surrounding the underground tank to determine if there are any traces of fuel outside the tank. The samples are taken from specific locations around the tank and analyzed according to EPA methods.
