the market. When sellers have a pre-sale home inspection, they reduce their exposure to liability, increase
their asking price, and strengthen their negotiating power.
We offer Tank Inspections:
Our company offers different services, but you will probably need a tank testing and a soil evaluation.
All our inspection services provide cost-effective solutions to identify problems with the home's underground tank system.
1. Tank Testing:
Our tank test systems use a sophisticated computer analysis program to evaluate the tank and piping.
The tank test will identify problems with the integrity of the tank or piping. Based on the computerized
test results, we will issue a written "pass" or "fail" report. Often, tank test failures can be repaired
and in these cases, we will do our best to identify the problem area.
Tank testing is the most economical inspection, and is available within 1.5 hours after the inspection.
We charged an additional fee for tank corrosion analysis that predicts whether the tank is at high risk for catastrophic failure in the near future.
If you own a tank with capacity of 1,101 gallons or greater you must do the following:
1. Register the UST system with Maryland Department of the Environmental
2. Property mark the fill pipe with the tank capacity and product stored.
3. Test the UST system at 15 years of age and every 5 years thereafter.
2. Soil Evaluation
The test involves extracting samples from the soil surrounding the underground tank. The samples
are transported to the laboratory to determine whether the soil contains petroleum contamination.
